My name is Que Duong and I am from New Orleans, Louisiana. I was born in Vietnam on April 25, 1987. When my mother was pregnant with me, a fortune teller / village witch doctor told her that I will grow up to be an average person. This is my journey to prove her wrong.
Before every shoot, I usually asked one of my photographer friend to tag along with me to scout locations for my story. This helped me to be more prepare for the shoot and further develop my concept.
It has been almost a year since I last updated this blog. Before I went on a hiatus, I was having a creative block. Thus, I took a trip to New York and spent the new year in the city that always inspired me. Six months later, I am back in New Orleans and trying to rebuild my portfolio. I believed that I can do better and produce more creative stories and explore more styles.

Many of you who have followed me on Facebook and Twitter, you might have seen the preparation for this shoot. This spread was inspired by the Mary Poppin’s movie and was featured on Design Scene.
This is what they have to say:
Design Scene is always proud to present up and coming photography talents, today we have “Poppin Marry” a beautiful vibrant shoot by photographer Que Duong. Inspiration behind the shoot is hiding in Marry Poppins movie, where the photographer was inspired by the perfection of beloved English nanny. Model Coco Capdepon was shot on an even more perfect backdrop that is city of New Orleans.

In the spirit of Halloween, I had decided to post these up. If you took sociology in college then you would know about a girl named Anna. She was my inspiration for this shoot. Anna was locked up by her parent since birth and had no social contact. Anna’s social isolation affected her mentally and physically. I thought her story was eerie and I wanted to capture the isolation.
When I had stayed up late one night, I saw one of those religious infomercials and saw how some of the people who were praying looked like they were climaxing. They were so dramatic. I thought to poke fun of them and did this spread, I hope you guys get it.
This photo shoot was inspired by the hierarchy in the kingdom. Clare really did an excellent job on the clothing. She used a lot of natural leaves mixed with fabric for this Green Shoot.
