In the spirit of Halloween, I had decided to post these up. If you took sociology in college then you would know about a girl named Anna. She was my inspiration for this shoot. Anna was locked up by her parent since birth and had no social contact. Anna’s social isolation affected her mentally and physically. I thought her story was eerie and I wanted to capture the isolation.

This is the classic case study of Anna, a young child raised in extreme isolation and the effect of this isolation on her psych-social development.
Anna was an illegitimate child born to a retarded mother. The grandfather, with whom Anna’s mother lived, was enraged at the birth and tried, unsuccessfully, to place Anna in foster care. At the age of five-and-one-half months Anna was returned to her mother and thereafter kept on the second floor in an attic-like room so as not to offend the grandfather. Anna was alone nearly all of the time, seldom moved, touched or talked to and rarely bathed. She was fed almost nothing but cow’s milk.
Anna was finally found and removed from the home at the age of six years. When discovered, she could not walk, talk, or do anything that showed intelligence. Over the next four years in foster care Anna developed but not rapidly. By the age of ten she had achieved a level of development comparable to that of a two-and-one-half year-old child.
Davis concluded that this type of impoverished environment severely retarded development. He recognized that it is impossible, with this type of study, to say definitely that Ann’s lack of development was caused by her poor environment. Anna may have been deficient mentally because of hereditary factors.

BEAUTIFUL work! Definitely hope to work with you when you come to NY. Love the story behind the “Anna” shoot also
I LOVE this shoot so muchhhhh Que;;
It’s my favoriteee <3
Thank you for sharing your inspiration. I like putting the fashion sense to the inspiration which is very gutteral and animalistic in real life.
Que- Once again you do push the button out of the box…I like the new site. Its organized and you give enough information about yourself to make it very interesting.
So dope…Love the Story.
